Meringue - Dorothy


MERINGUE – Dorothy Tomi (& Toni)  1991

2 TBSP cornstarch

4 TBSP cold water

Mix cornstarch & 4 TBSP water.

Add another ½ cup water.

Bring to boil, boil for 2 minutes, then set in refrigerator to cool (about 30-45 minutes).

6 egg whites

2/3 cup sugar

Beat egg whites, adding 2/3 cup sugar gradually.

Add cooled cornstarch mixture & beat until stiff peaks.

Spread over room-temperature pie.

Bake 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes.
